End of the Year Freebies

Hey yall! Happy hump day!

As the year is quickly coming to a close (12 days!!!!), I wanted to share some freebies that will help with those end-of-the-year gifts. These are all gifts I've given in the past few years and they all have one thing in common....cheap!

Let's start with students.

My class sizes have been pretty consistently large each year, so I'm always trying to find something that won't break the bank. This year I've got 25 kiddos, so cheap is the goal!

My first year teaching, my teamies and stayed up all night baking our kiddos cookies. Seriously...we had a slumber party and baked like 75 giant flower cookies. It was most definitely a labor of love.

As you can see, the tags were super simple...but they got the message across! Lucky for you, I've made some cute new ones :) Get those here.

My second year of teaching, I upped the ante a little. Another slumber party ensued (are you noticing a pattern, here??) with my best teaching buddy and we made these adorable tile frames.

Again, another labor of love.

Last year, I *sniff, sniff* didn't have my best buddy anymore, so I was all alone during my gift-making stage. I decided EASY was the way to go.

I ran up to the dollar tree to get inspired and ended up finding some cool tie dye sunglasses. I snagged them up (thankfully, there was enough!) and whipped up a simple tag. Grab those here.

Boom. Student gifts.....done!

These were a HUGE hit people! Look at those cool kids!
I'm *almost* positive this is what I'm doing for my class this year.

Now...let's move on to parent/room mom gifts.

My first couple of years teaching, I was beyond blessed to have amazing parental support.
I mean, seriously....they spoiled me.

I didn't realize how spoiled I had gotten until I started teaching at my current school, where parental involvement is almost non-existent.

So, I wanted to do something special for my room moms (yes, plural...I had 3 one year and 4 the next!).

The first year I made these yummy fortune cookies and threw in a Starbucks gift card.

The tag was simple at the time, but I have since revamped it and added it here.

The second year, I was also thinking food :)
That was the year all the mason jar gifts were getting big, so I came up with these.

Strawberry pudding shortcake....pure yumminess!
You can snag those tags here.

That year, I also made these little treats (a Pinterest find) for the rest of my parents.

Those tags can be found here.

Alright yall, I'm off to do some serious TPT shopping. There's only a few hours left in the sale!

Take Me Back Tuesday: Room Mom Gifts!

Hey yall!

Anyone else already on Thanksgiving break? We have the whole week off and it is glorious! Sleeping in, hanging out in the jammies til 2, shopping, catching up with my girlfriends....loving every second of it!

So since I'm trying hard to not do anything productive, I'm joining Hope for her fun linky :)

This is a post from awhile back where I shared the gifts I gave my room moms at the end of the year. I thought with December just right around the corner, they would also make great gifts for Christmas! Take a look and let me know whatcha think :)

Hey yall! Happy Saturday!

I have been on summer break for about 12 days now and it. is. fabulous.

I feel sorry for you poor souls that are still locked away in a school building. But only if you promise to feel sorry for me when I start back to school in early August, while you are still enjoying the summer through Labor Day! That is, if  I get a job!

Anyways, I wanted to share with you guys something that I did last year for my room moms. I was super broke at the time, so I needed to make something incredibly cheap and easy, but that still looked cute.

Now, I cannot take credit for this idea. I found it somewhere on the world wide web. This was pre-Pinterest, and before I became a blogstalker, so I honestly have no clue where I found this idea. If anyone knows, let me know!

Here is what I made for my room moms:

They are little Chinese takeout boxes with chocolate dipped fortune cookies and a tag that says "I am so FORTUNate to have you as a room mom!"

Now, when I made these last year, I didn't cutesify everything I made.

Shock! Gasp! Aww!

I know.

So, of course when I decided to share this with you guys, I just had to make some cute little labels to go with it!

I thought it would be cute to roll these up fortune cookie style and attach them to the takeout boxes. This would be mucho adorable than my lame index card label that I made last year. Ha!

Click on the picture below to get a copy of the labels. It also has step-by-step directions on how to make the cookies....not that you will need it, because they are seriously super easy to make!

Graphics by The Digital Cake Shop.
Fonts by Kevin and Amanda.
I have also included tags that say 'room parent' instead of 'room mom.'
If you have something else, say a room dad or room grandparent, just shoot me a quick email and I will be happy to make a different tag for you :)

Alright yall, off to wash my car and clean my room!

Countdown: Days 4 & 3 and Parent/Room Mom Gifts!

Hey yall! Do you like that looong post name? Ha!

We are down to 2 days, yall! I'm going to let that sink in....

...sinking...

...still sinking...

can you believe it? I know, I know, you are so jealous :) and I don't blame you. I would be jealous, too!

But your time will come!

Day 4 balloon

This guy said that we would be having a popsicle party! Whoo-hoo! And I remembed to actually bring the popsicles to school...go me!

I didn't plan this one well, though, because we also had our summer birthday party planned for that day. So my littles had popsicles after lunch, and cupcakes in the afternoon. Yikes! Oh well, that's what the end of the year is for, right?

Day 3 balloon

This one said movie day! This one was well planned. Today was our field day, but instead of having it all day for all grades, they split it up. Kindergarten thru 2nd grade had it in the morning, and 3rd thru 5th had it in the afternoon. I was totally fine with this, except we were wondering what in the world to do with 71 hyped up 7 year olds??? So.....we decided we would just watch a movie in the afternoon :)

I really want to post some pictures of our field day, but I haven't uploaded them yet.

I do, however, have these little gems...

That would be our whole entire school being blasted by a firehose from a firetruck. It. Was. Awesome.

Okay, now I am super exicted to show you guys these gifts I have been working on :)
I had seen this idea on Pinterest (I wonder how many times I say that in a day...), and knew that I wanted to make it for my parents. This idea came from Nicole at First Grade Owls.

However, my printer did not like the labels that were provided and kept messing them up, so I had to make my own. Here's how mine turned out.

I think they turned out pretty good. I would share the tags with you, but I honestly just googled the picture, and I need to get permission from Nicole about the wording. So I will get back to you on that one...

Anyways, these are the little treats that I am giving to the majority of my parents. However, I did make something special for my room moms.

Did I mention that I have 6 room moms??? A little excessive, I know, but it worked for me :)

Here is what I made for them...

It's strawberry shortcake in a mason jar. The tag says "We would have come up short without you!" and the tag for the bag says "Thank you berry much for all of your help this year! From, Mrs. Lemacks"

You like?

I am sooo happy with these, and I hope my room moms love them! They look awfully tasty, too :)

Click here for the tags for those, in case you want to make your own :)

Okay, I have to go finish the rest. Would you believe that I only finished one, just so I could take pictures and blog about it? Ha! Five left :)
