Five for Friday...a day late!

Hey yall!

I missed my favorite linky party yesterday, so I'm jumping on board today!

Here are 5 random things from my week:

1. Last weekend, I flew to Nashville for a bachelorette weekend. I had found some amazingly cheap flights and soon found out why! The plane was tiny...as in 8 passenger tiny! It was a little scary riding in such a small plane, but the views were absolutely amazing!

2. Once we got to Nashville, we spent the whole weekend celebrating the beautiful bride! Although we didn't get much sight-seeing done, we did make it over to see the iconic Bluebird Cafe!

3. We had our end of the year party on Thursday. We set up a grill and some canopies and had a good ol'fashioned cookout! We also put on some tunes and had a dance party! I tell you what...those kids can dance!

4. After the party, we came in and I gave out our class awards. The smiles on their faces were priceless! These awesome awards came from Georgia Grown Kinders.

5. Friday was the last day of school for the kiddos! I had purchased some super cute tie dye sunglasses for my kiddos at Dollar Tree, so I passed those out when we went outside for recess. They loved their new shades!

Now, I'm off to enjoy the rest of this glorious 3 day weekend! After that, we've got 2 days of post-planning, then its officially summer, baby!

Student Gifts {freebie!}

Hey yall!

Well, its here! Tomorrow is the last day of school for my kiddos. Its always a bittersweet day for me, because even though I am absolutely giddy to have a nice, long break, I am definitely going to miss my babies!

We are going to spend tomorrow just reflecting on our past year and what we have learned. We will be comparing some of our first writings of the year to our writing now. I can't wait to see their reactions! I am definitely proud of their progress, and I know they are going to be excited as well. My littles are *almost* big 2nd graders now!

I am also going to be handing out my student gifts. Last year, I spent a lot of time and energy making photo tiles for my kiddos. The kiddos thought they were cool and the parents really appreciated them! However, this year, I went cheap and easy.

I found these cool tie dye sunglasses at The Dollar Tree and BOOM!
Inspiration.

I tried to get some good pictures of them, but my camera phone is not working with me.

If you want the tags, click on the picture below. I took off my name {obviously}, but you can always write in your name with a neon gel pen or something!

Please leave me some love if you grab a copy!

Now, off to relax and get ready for the last day!!!

It's the end of the year as we know it! {freebie alert}

Hey yall!

I'm super stoked to tell you that today was my last Monday of the year! Whoohoo!
We've got 3 1/2 more days with the kiddos and then 2 days of post-planning after the long weekend.

Thank goodness, because my littles were W-I-L-D today! I'm sure they are just as anxious as I am to get to summer, but WHOA! It already feels like Friday will never get here!

We are going to be spending this week doing some fun activities like....

making our Berry Best Year crafts...

Meanwhile, I'm going to be busy packing and moving everything out of my classroom. I'm not sure if I ever shared this with yall, but my principal wants to move me to 5th grade next year....eeek!!! I'm not at all happy about it, so I'm in the process of trying to move schools. That means my poor hubby's manfort is going to be overrun with school stuff over the summer....sorry babe!

Now, this girl has got some serious sleep to catch up on. I spent a long bachelorette weekend in Nashville and am in recovery mode.

7 ladies + 1 big suit + Nashville = 1 amazing weekend!

Laura, I love you girl and had the BEST weekend! Can't wait to see you get hitched in 2 weeks!!!

Five for Friday {on a Saturday}

Hey yall!

Happy Saturday! This was the first Saturday is awhile that I haven't been saddled with homework, so its been nice to just sleep in and relax this morning.

I missed my favorite weekly link up yesterday, so I'm catching up today!

fiveforfriday

Here we go with five random pictures from my week...

1. Last Saturday, I went to a Mother's Day brunch with my momma (who just happened to plan the whole thing!) at our church. These were the adorable favors that we got! I love how simple, yet beautiful they are and have them currently displayed on our mantle.

2. When we went on our field trip a couple of weeks ago to a local dairy farm, the kids had a chance to help make butter. They begged me to do it again, so of course I obliged! We had just finished up our unit on economics, so we talked about how we were being producers by making the butter. Then we slathered it on some crackers and had a yummy snack!

3. In science, we've been talking about light and shadows. To kick off our unit, I put the kiddos in groups and let them brainstorm different sources of light. Then I gave them some chart paper and they made posters. I was pretty impressed with what they came up with! In case you can't tell, those are pictures of a street light, a flash light, the sun, and a vacuum light.

4. Thursday was our field day, and we had so much fun! The kiddos loved competing in all the different activities and we even got ribbons for placing 2nd in our grade level! Then we went inside for lunch in the classroom and finished the day out with a movie. Exhausting, but fun!

5. Thursday was also my sweet Abby's 9th birthday! She is getting pretty gray, especially around her head and ears. And talk about cranky! But I love my cranky, gray haired baby girl :)

Now that we are down to only 10 days of school left, I've got to get my balloon countdown ready! My kiddos really loved it last year, so I'm hoping this group does as well. We are going to be doing some activites from my Balloon Poppin' Fun freebie. Click on the picture to grab your copy and be sure to buy some balloons! There are enough activites for this to be done for the last 15 days, if you are so inclined.

Happy weekend, friends!

Fabulous Feedback and a S-A-L-E!

Hey yall!

I wish I could say "Happy Monday!" but unfortunately, it soooo was not happy for me.

I won't get into it, but let's just say I have one very challenging and disturbed child that made it difficult. And 16 others that have summer fever!

Tomorrow will be better :)

I'm linking up today with Christina over at Bunting, Books, and Bainbridge for her Fabulous Feedback linky!

Feedback is a must for a TPT seller. It lets us know how much are products are valued, gives us boosts when we need them, and also allows us to become better sellers by meeting your needs.
Although I don't always comment on feedback, please know that I read each and every one that I get. I love hearing that little bell on my phone that lets me know I have new feedback!!!

Here are some that put a HUGE smile on my face!

Frames by Ashley Hughes
Font by A Cupcake for the Teacher

And also 1 that gave me some suggestions to make it better:

I just realized that I haven't made those cards bigger yet, so I know what my first project will be this week :)

As I'm sure you all have heard by now, TPT is having a HUGE Teacher Appreciation sale and I'm joining in on the fun!

Click on the picture to start shopping! And don't forget to leave that valuable feedback on past items to get some credit!

Now, I'm off to de-stress with some chocolate and wine :)

Sombreros, Maracas, Pinatas...oh my! {freebie}

Hey yall! Happy, happy, happy Friday!

I felt like this Friday would never get here. Testing is such a bummer...

And its not over...next week we begin our DIBELS testing :/ Yuck!

Putting that out of my mind for now, so I can enjoy this glorious weekend!

Today we celebrated a little bit about Cinco de Mayo. I hadn't really planned for us to do a whole lot, but our whole day pretty much ended up being centered around the holiday.

First, we started out by learning all about Mexico with a little Moby action.

We needed some festive wear for the day, so we made Teri's fabulous sombreros. They loved these!

Sombrero Fail

Then we gathered some data by asking our friends "Do you like tacos?" or "Do you like spicy foods?" Apparently, everyone loves some tacos!

We read "Cinco de Mouse-O!" by Judy Cox. Absolutely adored the illustrations in this cute book!

Then we brainstormed everything we had learned about Cinco de Mayo...

...and wrote about it! I gave my kiddos some maracas and let them decorate them however they wanted. I love how different they all are!

This one cracked me right up! Love the stache!
The fabulous sombrero and writing sheets came from A Cupcake for the Teacher's cinco de mayo pack. Go pick it up!

If you want the maracas outline, click here.

Now I'm off to see my kiddos at a local baseball game!
