Hey yall!
Well, I have some exciting news to share with yall today.
I've known for a couple weeks now, but I've been keeping it a {semi} secret until it was officially official.
I got a new teaching position! In a new grade. In a new school. In a new district.
Lots of changes for this school year.
I am so super excited about this new position, but a bit nervous as well.
I'll be moving to 3rd grade, which is unchartered territory for me!
I was able to check out my new classroom last week.
As you can see, I've got some work to do!
So I need yall's help.
What are some third grade resources that you couldn't teach without?
I'm not sure exactly what I'll be teaching yet, as third grade is departmentalized.
Definitely social studies, possibly language arts as well.
Any advice for this thirdie newbie?
You will love it! I loved teaching Third before I moved to Kinder. I have several things in my store you could check out. Plus old blog posts on my blog. Can't wait to hear about your fabulous new adventures!!

Third Grade in the First State
Hey Natalie! Third grade is going to be awesome. I taught 3rd grade for 3 years, and I'm actually moving down to first this year. One thing that really stood out with my kiddos this year was Multiplication Boot Camp from 3 Teacher Chicks. They loved it. One of our other favorite activities was Traveling Tourists from Simply Skilled in Second (find it on TpT). I didn't do it exactly the way she suggested, but it was still a blast. Can't wait to hear about how your year goes! Take care.

Congrats! Definitely talk to the teachers in the new school that are 2nd grade to hear what concepts and skills got covered at the end of this past school year and the 4th grade teachers to hear what they expect to be covered during this year as well as any other 3rd grade level teachers in your building. Good luck and best wishes!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I haven't taught 3rd grade, but I have taught 4th. I am sure you'll love 3rd!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations hon!! So excited for you!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I'm moving to 3rd this year as well!
