I don't know if its anticipation of tomorrow, or the fact that our schedule is a little different this week, but my littles were insane today! Anyone else have that problem??? I swear, I had to stop every 5 seconds to redirect and get their attention. Needless to say, I am beat.
Today, we read the book "The Day It Rained Hearts" by Felicia Bond.
Then we made our own little Cordelias! Here is the one I made to show them...
And here are my littles...
I thought they did pretty good! And their writing was just so sweet and heartfelt :) I had told them to do their very best work because I was only able to put 5 on our bulletin board! You should have seen them trying so hard! I need to start telling them that everytime, because even the ones that aren't always crazy about craftivities really made an effort! (BTdubs, I could only put 5 on the board, because it is the board for all of 1st grade...and as much as I would have loved to have all of mine up there, I had to share :)
I'm sorry, but is this not the cutest board you have ever seen??? In the words of Skippy Jon Jones, "Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh."

I have been working really hard this weekend on 2 new units-On the Loose with Dr. Seuss Literacy Activities and Lots of Luck Math Activities. My Dr. Seuss unit is already for sale on TN and TPT, but I am still tweaking my St. Patty's Day unit. But I thought I would give you a little sneak peak with this freebie! Click on the picture to get your copy.
Please leave me some love if you grab a copy :)
Off to have my nightly bowl of Cocoa Pebbles and watch How I Met Your Mother.
I've never read that book before. Is it a great book for character education?

ReplyDeleteRead this book yesterday! One of my favs!
ReplyDeleteTammy, it's just a sweet story about a girl that collects hearts and makes cards for her friends. You could definitely use it for character education for kindness!
