Five for Friday!

Hey yall! TGIF, am I right???

I don't know about you, but this was a loooonggg, crazy week! I feel like I was run over by a truck...and then backed up and run over again. Ugh!

So how about a linky party tonight!

fiveforfriday

{1} We had a lockdown drill today. I got to sit with 19 kiddos in our bathroom...well, the hallway in between the girls and boys bathroom. For 30 minutes. With 19 kiddos. For 30 minutes. While they were snickering giggling making obscene noises absolutely quiet. With 19 kiddos. And did I mention it was for 30 minutes???

Not my idea of a good time :(

Note: these are NOT my actual students...because we were in a bathroom....for 30 minutes.

{2} Our school is also locking down our copies...and our printers. Meaning, we cannot make copies unless they are approved beforehand with a reasoning of why we need them and an explanation of where they came from. Also, we are no longer allowed to print anything from our personal printers.

Ummm......seriously???????????????????

Does anyone else have such crazy restrictions? I felt like this today...

{3} Even though the temperature was amazing today, we didn't get a chance to go outside because it was raining earlier in the morning and the playground was completely soaking wet.

So instead we had Rainy Day Recess. Does anyone else do Rainy Day Recess??? I seriously heart it!

{4} The hubs and I stopped by Joanns tonight and I found this {for 40% off I might add!}.

So cute, right??? I can't wait to use it for Valentine's Day! I may even keep it on my desk after VDay, for heart notes and such :)

{5} You know you're a teacher when you spend a Friday night grading papers...

Happy weekend, friends!!!

  1. Ewww- that lockdown drill does not sound fun. :O(

Yuck! Copy restrictions are so difficult (well, I have more words than that, but I'll leave it at difficult). We used to have restrictions but they lifted them. I can't imagine having to get approval. Some of our teachers bought little personal copiers to use in their classroom when this occurred. I like the picture though- I know exactly how you feel!

I LOVE that mailbox! I have an owl themed room and I'm going to have to go to Joanns and see if I can find one too! Soooooo stinkin' cute!. They were a little rowdy!

I do not know about Rainy Recess Day but I'm going to have to check that out! We had to stay in 2 days this week

And, I spend every night grading papers. Sigh. But, I love my job, so it's ok! :O)

  2. What???? I think that is ABSURD about the copies. We don't even put in copy numbers but are sometimes threatened with it! :) I'm sorry it has come to that at your school?

  3. The copy restrictions sound a little overboard. :) (I agree. It was a crazy, long week. Enjoy your weekend!)

  4. That's crazy! They aren't restricting your printing from personal printers at home are they? We have copy restrictions but we don't have to have them approved. I am so sorry! It is sad that schools have been so cut with funds that we can't move an inch or do things that we need, to do what is best for the kids! At least it is the weekend!!!
